1. What exactly does an SEO company do?

   SEO companies offer a specialized service to businesses to assist them in achieving a high ranking when a search is executed on keywords that are relevant to that business. When a widget production company wants to be on the first or first few pages of a Google query when a user searches for "Buy Widgets", they call an SEO company.

There are alot of scam artists out there claiming to do SEO, but they either do not achieve results, or use unethical and deceiving practices. 5. How long does the ranking process take?

   Left to run its natural course, the ranking process can take up to 6-8 weeks after the optimization has occured. This is not something that any SEO company can control. There are ways to speed up the process, but those methods usually will cost varying amounts of money.

6. Once I acieve a high ranking, will my site stay there?

   Not always. There are always new competitors, changes to the search engine algorithims, and other outside factors that can affect how your page is ranked.

7. What kinds/size of web sites can you work with?

   No matter what the size of your site, or the technology used, we have got you covered. We have experince working on many different flavors of UNIX and Windows using ASP,PHP,PERL,JSP,or just HTML. If you arent sure about what kind of web site you have, that's OK, that is for us to figure out, not you.

9. Do you need access to my web site?

   Once the keyword research is complete, we will need access to your website in order to optimize your site using those keywords. We will not change the functionallity, navigation, or logic of your web site. If there is something about your site that would be considered not search engine friendly, we will consult with you, and make recommendations on what needs to change and why. We will never make changes to your site without your explicit consent.

10. What kind of things should I look for when selecting a SEO company?

11. Can I just tell you what keywords I want to use, and you just get me to rank high for those keywords?

    Part of the service we offer here at Sapphire Studios is keyword analysis to determine what keywords will best describe your business, but that also presents the best opportunity for search engine traffic. The phrases that seem like obvious choices to target with the search engines may not be the same keywords your customers use when they search for companies that offer your services. For example, if you own a car dealership, an obvious choice of keyword "McKinney Car" may seem like a sure thing. In reality, through research we may find that there are less than 10 searches a day on McKinney Car, but there are over 1,000 searches a day on "McKinney Automobile". We will use facts, not gut feelings when choosing the keywords, if you choose the wrong keywords, you are not going to reach your target audience.
